Use this guide to see which Ottawa Christmas tree farm to visit.

CEDARHILL CHRISTMAS TREE FARM NEAR OTTAWA

  • Hours November 20 to December 24. 
  • Monday to Thursday 10 am-6 pm
  • Friday 10 am-8 pm
  • Saturday-Sunday 9 am-5 pm 
  • Time from Ottawa: 46 minutes, Pakenham

You’ll find this Ottawa Christmas Tree Farm in Pakenham. It’s a popular spot and has even been featured in Christmas movies. Cederhill Christmas Tree Farm has a variety of cut your own and pre-cut Christmas Trees. Shop ahead for your home décor, ornaments, and more with their online store and ready for on-farm pick up between Monday and Friday. Keep posted for information on a Santa you can get socially distanced photos with. They have a restaurant that offers takeout that you can enjoy on outdoor picnic tables. They have tractor wagon rides available with physical distancing. Afterward, sit by the bonfire and sip hot chocolate. Dogs are welcome but make sure they’re on a leash and cleaned up after. 

IAN’S CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE PARK AND TREE FARM

  • Hours Starting November 20th:

This Ottawa Christmas tree farm is high on my list of places to visit. Ian’s Christmas Adventure Park and Tree Farm is full of festive activities. From light displays. Petting farm, Santa’s workshop, movie night under the stars, hayrides, mazes, toboggan hills, and more, it will be easy to get in the Christmas spirit here. This year they’ve added “Movie Night on the Big Screen” where you watch a movie under the stars with warm blankets and a fire to keep warm. Admission is $10 or free when you purchase a tree. They have a variety of trees available and you can purchase a pre-cut tree or cut your own. Check out this resource they created to find out which tree is best for you. Dogs are allowed but make sure to keep them on a leash and clean up after them. 

MACGOWAN’S CHRISTMAS TREE FARM

  • Hours: weekends from 9 am-5 pm starting November 20th
  • Time from Ottawa: 40 minutes

Head to MacGowan’s Christmas Tree Farm near Ottawa and cut your own tree and then enjoy a wagon ride, hot chocolate, and browse their shop. In their shop, they have inge-glass ornaments, omega tree stands, wreaths, and more. Dogs are welcome but make sure they’re on a leash and cleaned up after. Don’t feel comfortable visiting in person? You can also purchase your tree online and have it delivered.

LOG CABIN ORCHARD

  • Hours: reopening December 3rd
  • Time from Ottawa: 34 minutes, Osgoode

Log Cabin Orchard will have pre-picked trees available starting December 5th. I’ll update here when more details are available. This is one of my favourite spots for apples and pumpkins in the fall.

SAUNDERS FARM

  • A country Christmas Daytime: Dec. 4th-19th on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-4pm (Tickets are $24 + $2.99 booking fee)
  • A Country Christmas- Drive Through Light Show: December 4th-30th from Sunday to Thursday 6pm-9pm, Fridays and Saturdays 6pm-10pm (Tickets are $30 + $2.99 booking fee)
  • Time from Ottawa: 30 minutes, Munster

Head to Saunders Farm for their Country Christmas festivities. They don’t have a traditional Ottawa Christmas tree farm but they do have Christmas trees available through their gift shop. Pick up a tree and enjoy their snow-covered mazes, hayride, Christmas trees, and more.

THE LOG FARM

  • Hours: Book a session, Tickets $11.97/person (including taxes and fees)and must be pre-purchased
  • Every Saturday 9am-12pm and Sunday 1pm-4pm between November 28th and December 21st. 
  • December 22nd and 23rd 1pm-4pm
  • Time from Ottawa: 17 minutes, Nepean

Transport to a pioneer farm from the 1800s. Head to the Log Farm to get in the Christmas spirit and pick-up one of their pre-cut trees. Visit their gift shop where you can also get some hot chocolate. Afterward, visit their barnyard animals, Santa’s workshop, and enjoy hot apple cider by the bonfire. You can even mail your letters to Santa here.

HILLCREST TREE FARM

  • Hours: starting November 27th, Weekdays 12 pm-4:00 pm, Weekends 9 am-4:00 pm
  • Time from Ottawa: 31 minutes, North Gower

You’ll find this Ottawa Christmas Tree Farm situated on a 100-acre former dairy farm that dates back to the 1800s. Hillcrest Farm grows a variety of Fir, Spruce, and Pine trees and they have complimentary bailing available. You can also purchase Christmas wreaths here. Due to COVID there aren’t sleigh rides or hot drinks available, dogs also aren’t permitted this year.

Fallowfield Tree Farm

  • Hours: daily 9 am-9 pm until December 24th
  • Time from Ottawa: 31 minutes, North Gower

Head to Fallowfield Tree Farm near Ottawa for a selection of fresh, pre-cut, or cut-your-own trees. While you’re there enjoy a complimentary tractor hayride or if weather permits, a sleigh/wagon ride. Afterward, warm up with hot chocolate by their bonfire. They also have Christmas wreaths available. 

Brigg’s Tree Farm

  • Hours: Open daily 8am-4:30pm until December 22nd
  • Time from Ottawa: 29 minutes, Navan 

Enjoy a walk through Brigg’s Tree Farm’s 100 acre woods. You can cut your own spruce, balzam or scotch pine tree at this Ottawa Christmas Tree. You can also purchase Christmas wreaths and arrangements and browse their gift shop for local goods. Visit their antique barn for ornaments, decorations, books, linens and more. 

THOMAS CHRISTMAS TREE FARM

  • Open: Wednesday to Friday 9am-5pm, starting November 26th
  • Time from Ottawa: 33 minutes, North Gower

Head to this Ottawa Christmas Tree Farm to find your perfect tree. Thomas Tree Farm has complimentary hot chocolate and cookies that you can enjoy on at their firepit.

BOISÉ BRABANT 

  • Open: Saturdays-Sundays 9 am-4 pm from Nov 21st to Dec 20th
  • Time from Ottawa: 39 minutes, Casselman

Head to Boisé Brabant and enjoy listening to Christmas music as you find your perfect Christmas tree. Due to COVID dogs must stay at home this year and they won’t have their usual activities like children’s slide and hot chocolate. They only accept cash, so make sure to visit an ATM on your way there!

Laird’s Christmas Tree Farm (Closed for 2021)

  • Hours: daily from 9:30am-4:30pm (except December 24-25)
  • Time from Ottawa: 33 minutes, Osgoode

Head to this Ottawa Christmas Tree Farm to pick your own Christmas tree. Forgot your saw? No problem! Our farm has loaners. Ask for one on your way in and return it on your way out. One of their family members is happy to help if you can’t cut the tree yourself. They accept cash or cheque. Due to COVID there will be no wagon rides, hot chocolate, or bonfire. Dogs are not permitted this year. 

Karlson Evergreens Christmas Tree Farm (Closed for 2021)

  • Hours: Monday to Friday 1pm-4:30pm, Saturday- Sunday 8:30am-4:30pm, November 28th – December 13th
  • Time from Ottawa: 30 minutes from Ottawa, 45 minutes from Cornwall

This Ottawa Chrstimas tree farm grows trees from around the world. The six varieties of trees originate from Germany, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, United States, and of course Canada. Make sure to follow their tree schedule based on the type of tree you’re looking for. They also offer pre-order for tree pickup. 

*After Christmas, your tree can be donated to the NCC to be used on the Rideau Canal. When I have more information I’ll update it here.
