The Best Ottawa Christmas Drives

Ottawa Christmas Lights

If there has ever been a year for Christmas drives it’s this one. Here’s a fun way to enjoy some Christmas events without even leaving your car. Last year my boyfriend and I took my grandparents for an Ottawa Christmas drive to see as many Christmas lights as we could. We grabbed some hot chocolate and admired all the lights. That’s what sparked this post. Enjoy some magical Christmas sights from the comfort of your own vehicle. Here are some Ottawa Christmas drives that will get you in the holiday spirit.

OTTAWA CHRISTMAS DRIVE: MAGIC OF LIGHTS

Head to Wesley Clover Parks to head through their festive drive full of vibrant Christmas lights. Magic of Lights is a dazzling, drive-through holiday lights experience featuring holiday scenes. Wind through the sparkling path and you’ll see everything from colourful LED-light tunnels to class Christmas figures. Buy online ahead of time and tickets are only $22 for your vehicle.

Grab a coffee or hot chocolate at Ritual on Main in Stittsville beforehand. They have a beautiful space and always have unique drink features.

Ottawa Christmas Drives: Winter Lights Across Canada

Christmas Lights Across Canada is the annual event that illuminates downtown with thousands of Christmas Lights.  I recommend driving through downtown and go from Confederation Park, down Sussex past Majors Hill Park and over to the History Museum to see Christmas trees, and loop back to Parliament Hill. Afterward, head to Lights At Lansdowne below.

Grab a coffee at Little Victories before you go through the route.

Ottawa Christmas Drive: Taffy Lane

This street in Ottawa is known for how long the residents go all out with their Christmas lights. You’ll find the street in Orleans. I love the spirit of the residents to make their street a Christmas destination. This Ottawa Christmas drive is full of light displays that are sure to impress. For years the residents of Taffy Lane have been going all out to decorate their homes for the holidays with lights, Christmas characters, and more. Grab a hot drink at Cafe Latte Cino and then make your way through the street.
