Weekend Getaway Series: 24 Hours in Tremblant in Fall

Mont Tremblant in Fall

When I think of Mont Tremblant, I usually think of snowboarding in the mountains. I’ve visited countless times in the winter but last weekend, I had the opportunity to experience the fun and beauty that is there to be enjoyed during the Fall season and it definitely won’t be the last time! I had only 24 hours to spend at Mont Tremblant in Fall but I could have easily spent an entire weekend or even longer there. This destination is perfect for friends, couples, or families! It’s less than a two hour drive from Ottawa. Take in the amazing views of the mountains and changing leaves on your way there. Read on for an itinerary to make the most of your time in Tremblant in Fall:

Tremblant in Fall Day One

Check-In

I’ve stayed in Tremblant a few times in multiple locations but my favourite remains the village. Here, you have easy access to a full range of activities during your trip. For your convenience, there is also a free shuttle to and from the Mont Tremblant Casino! I stayed at the Fairmont Tremblant which offers spectacular views, popular amenities such as an indoor pool and hot tub, cozy fires, and very comfortable beds so that you wake up feeling refreshed. Check out one of the views from the hotel below.

Explore the Mont Tremblant Village

This is a must every time I visit! I particularly love the atmosphere in the village that is characterized by the the colourful and quaint buildings that house many different attractions and services for visitors! The village is what I picture ski villages in Europe to be like. Pop into the shops and restaurants and stop somewhere for a quick bite for lunch!

Zipline Through the Mountains

Glide through the mountains with Ziptrek Ecotour. Enjoy all 5 ziplines totalling 4km. You can also take a side-by-side zipline so that you and your travel partner can enjoy the ziplines at the same time. Take in the view on the ziplines and on the 6 viewing decks. Make sure to book this activity at least 48 hours in advance.

Take a Helicopter Ride over the Mountains

Experience the beauty and spectacular Fall colours of the Laurentian Mountains from above with a helipcopter ride. You have the option of a 10 min or 20 min ride! Make sure to book this activity at least 48 hours in advance.

Spend a Night at the Casino

One of my favourite memories of the Mont Tremblant Casino was my first time at the roulette table where I was winning and had my own cheer squad comprised of friends I had just met from Boston. I’ve been to the Mont Tremblant Casino a few times and always had a blast! From the games, drinks, music, and people, you have the perfect recipe for a great night out! Another bonus is that they are constantly changing themes. The current theme is Country – so you can expect country dancing, drinks, picture walls, giveaways and more! Start your night out at the Casino’s restaurant, Altitude! If it’s not too cool, then ask for a seat on the patio where you’ll be able to take in a view of the mountains while you wine and dine! When I was there they had a great band that covered so many popular  songs and genres! Afterwards, head downstairs and let the games begin! You can play classic casino games or make your way towards the dance floor which features interactive screens where you can choose from games like roulette, black jack and more. This is a great choice if you and your friends want to play different games. You’ll also be in a great spot to see their professional country dancers!

Make the Most of Your Day With the Tremblant Activity Card

You can buy activity cards for 3, 5, 7 or 10 activities! For a 24 hour timeline I would suggest getting the 3 activities card. If you have more time, then purchasing one of the other cards will make more sense. Here’s a few of the activities you can enjoy with the activity card:

Take a Gondola Ride for a Panoramic View of the Laurentians

I highly recommend this activity on the activity card. Enjoy a panoramic view of the mountains from the gondola ride. I’ve seen the view from the top of the mountain countless times in the winter but it was truly break-taking to see it in the fall. You’re able to clearly see the village, mountains,  Lac Tremblant, changing leaves and skyline! Once you’re there take some time to hike through the mountains and take in the many views from all the different angles of the trails. To your left at the top of the mountain you’ll find a peak where you can walk up wooden stairs to see an unobstructed view of the village below. Grab lunch in the village to bring with you to the top. Scope out one of the red adirondack chairs and enjoy your lunch with a view.

Ride Down the Mountain on the Luge

Ride a luge, a 3-wheel cart, down a 1.4 km track down the mountain! This concept came from New Zealand and it’s the first summer luge in North America!

Canoe or kayak on Lac Tremblant

With the activity card you can rent a pedal boat, canoe, or kayak. Enjoy 30 minutes with the card on Lac Tremblant. If you want more time, you’re able to purchase it separately. There are also boat rentals and watersports (separate from the activity card).

Bike Rental

Rent a bike at the base of the mountain and then wander through the trails.
