Best Places for Pumpkin Picking Near Ottawa

Pumpkin Picking

As the weather turns a little colder, it’s time to embrace some Fall Activities. I love going pumpkin picking and then turning your favourites into something creative like pumpkin pie, jack-o-lantern and more! Here are some spots throughout Ottawa you can pick your own pumpkins and enjoy some fall fun. September/October is the perfect time to go. It’s a great opportunity for some fall fun and to support local farmers during fall harvest. Here are the best spots for pumpkin picking near Ottawa:

Pinewood Orchard

Open: Monday to Friday 10am-6pm, Weekends 9:30am-5:30pm

Time from Ottawa: 10 minutes

Enjoy pumpkin picking near Ottawa at Pinewood Orchards. Close to downtown, it’s an easy spot to head for pumpkins and other fresh produce.

Log Cabin Orchard and Pumpkin Patch

Open: Daily 9am-5pm

Time from Ottawa: 20 minutes south of Ottawa

Enjoy pumpkin picking near Ottawa at Log Cabin Orchard. This is one of my favourite spots for exploring and picking out the perfect pumpkin in the fall! You’ll find friendly staff and delicious apples, pumpkins, and cider available! Bonus, they also have plenty of animals you can visit with. On the weekends they pull out all the stops with wagon rides, churros, hot dogs and a bonfire pit!

Proulx Farm

Time from Ottawa: 30 minutes east of Ottawa

Enjoy pumpkin picking near Ottawa at Proulx Farm. This farm has a whole festival dedicated to pumpkins called Pumpkinfest. Their farm is transformed into a giant Halloween playground with fun for the whole family. Enjoy face-painting, hay structures, treehouse, and slides, go pedal tricycles, mazes, wagon rides, and more. Take a ride on their ‘Screamers’ Haunted hayride where all proceeds go towards the Kiwanis Club. This is also a great spot for birthdays.

Sunday, September 22nd from 10am-4pm is their customer appreciation day where you can get 2 for 1 admission (kids under 3 are free).

Abby Hill Farms

The staff can help you harvest, and offer friendly advice. Don’t forget to take advantage of the tractors rides when you’re out picking far in the fields.

Millers Farm & Market
